Loch-side garden, West of Scotland

Large Garden

Undertaken as part of the renovation of a large traditional Georgian house with spectacular views, the brief was to create a substantial fruit and vegetable garden with cut flower borders. Retaining walls were constructed to allow the site to be levelled and drainage was installed.

The focal point of the garden is a tall stone Celtic sundial forming the centre of a knot garden surrounded by four herb beds enclosed by beech hedging. The vegetable beds are framed by York handmade brick pavers and riven sandstone paving. A large south facing greenhouse was installed to bring on seedlings and vegetables.
